The Home Alone Safety Course is designed to provide children ten years of age and older with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when Home alone for short periods. It will help them understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations, and keep them safe and constructively occupied. The program focuses on small group discussions, problem-solving, role-playing, and instructor-led demonstrations. Topics include: establishing a routine, house Key is your responsibility, strangers, telephone, emergencies, basic first aid and internet safety. We have classes in Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga & Vaughan. What does the virtual course mean? Due to COVID-19, this course will run virtually online for three classes. After registration, you will receive the link to join the online course. Is there a minimum number of student to run a class Yes, if we do not meet the minimum requirement, you will get a full refund, and we will inform you no less than 48 hrs before the commencement of the class. What is the minimum age for Home alone safety course? There are no legal ages for staying Home Alone in Ontario. While there is no defined age, in Ontario, Children’s Aid Societies recommend that children under ten not be left home alone. Age is just a guideline; not all ten-year-olds are sufficiently responsible and mature to stay on their own, even in a safe and well-stocked environment. The judgment call is left for parents as they know their child’s abilities best. Children need to be trained with beneficial safety information to help them make wise decisions, prevent injuries and deal with an emergency or an unexpected situation if required. Will, my child, receive a certificate after Yes, each child gets a certificate and a manual. The replacement cost is $10. Please take a photo of your child’s certificate in case they misplace it. The program focuses on providing insights into university life, fostering critical thinking abilities, and instilling self-confidence, self-awareness, and motivation to pursue their aspirations authentically. The topics covered in the program include various crucial aspects of university life, such as understanding what to expect in a higher education institution, interpreting admission offers, familiarizing themselves with program requirements, maintaining mental well-being, managing living arrangements, handling financial matters, including awards, finances, credit cards, and loans, comprehending courses and grading systems, upholding academic integrity, exploring academic accommodations, mastering time management, acknowledging civic responsibilities, and balancing work while pursuing education. Upon completing the course, students will continue to benefit from ongoing support, including monthly e-meetings with mentors, granting them a platform to seek guidance and advice. Additionally, they will have access to the β€œAsk the Prof” feature, enabling them to pose questions to professors and further enrich their understanding of academic subjects.

The program provides youth with employability skills training and employment training support. The program’s goal is to help young people or new immigrants make a successful transition from receiving an education to obtaining sustainable employment.
