Our homework club is part of our After School Program that provides comprehensive social and educational activities throughout the school year for children in grades 1-8. Our goal is to provide this free after-school programming for academic, social recreation and emotional maturity supports.
An after-school homework club would provide the necessary safe space, tutoring, and support to inspire children to excel. The homework club includes support to complete assignments, reading/literacy activities, and games to promote learning.
This program will run virtually this year due to COVID-19.. When we have more experience we intend to expand to include high school students into the program in the future.
At the end of the school year the management team of OLDF along with the tutors will perform an evaluation to assess the milestones, accomplishments, areas of improvement for the HW club in order to run it again successfully for the following school year (2021-2022) and beyond.
Our program is free and provides a space for elementary students who need additional tutoring/mentoring support. Priority is given to:
Registration opens each fall and goes through until the end of the school year in June.
