DESCRIPTION:The Home Alone Safety Course is designed to provide children ten years of age and older with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when Home alone for short periods. It will help them understand how to prevent problems\, handle real-life situations\, and keep them safe and constructively occupied. The program focuses on small group discussions\, problem-solving\, role-playing\, and instructor-led demonstrations. Topics include: establishing a routine\, house Key is your responsibility\, strangers\, telephone\, emergencies\, basic first aid and internet safety. Age is just a guideline; not all ten-year-olds are sufficiently responsible and mature to stay on their own\, even in a safe and well-stocked environment. The judgment call is left for parents as they know their child’s abilities best.
